Scott is Executive Vice President of the business insurance planning firm, Hierl Insurance, Inc.

Experience

Scott has been awarded the designations of Certified Risk Manager (CRM) & Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) by The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research. In addition, Scott is a University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and minor in Business Administration.

Since 1988, Scott has been providing Employee Benefit and Business Risk Management services to businesses throughout N.E. Wisconsin. Scott has been a presenter at the Fox Valley SHRM Convention and United Benefit Advisors (UBA) National Conference in Chicago, in addition to many local employer events focusing on employee education about their role in containing healthcare and workers compensation costs. He started his career with Met Life in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and shortly after moved to Appleton in 1989 to work for Rural Mutual. Scott joined Hierl in 1994, becoming a partner only a few years later. During his time at Hierl, he's focused on helping businesses manage their risk, whether it be rising costs of healthcare and benefits or workers compensation claims.

There are many local organizations serving his community that Scott loves to support, including The Boys and Girls Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, The Connection Homeless Shelter, Humane Society, Ronald McDonald Houses, Local Food Pantry, Wounded Warriors, Local Healthcare Foundations, and others. He's married with three kids and two grand kids, and loves that they live close, being able to spend time with them often.

One of Scott's favorite times is his monthly family dinner, where they each take a turn hosting the entire crew for dinner, games, great conversation, and lots of fun. When Scott finds free time, he enjoys hiking, biking, traveling in the U.S. and abroad, golfing, carpentry and reading. His goal this year is to read at least one new book each month.
